Keno is a game of luck with a rich and acclaimed history. The game that we are familiar with has undergone incredible changes since its original appearance. Gambling historians have followed its background as far back as 200 Before Christ to a Chinese type of diversion called ‘The Game of the White Dove.’ It is a well-recorded fact that a type of keno was played in a bingo-like configuration on the eastern seaboard just about the time of the huge Chinese arrival during the gold rush.
In its contemporary form, keno is something like bingo in that both games are centered upon numbers. Once the gambler has checked off the numbers, s/he must bring the card back to the clerk at the keno booth. The clerk will then provide a ticket after marking down the player’s numbers. It’s up to the player to trade in any winning ticket before the the next round starts, so stragglers need to keep alert.
